My Birthday Suprise!

Image
The day I came home from Dallas, Texas, was my birthday! My Mom (bless her heart) watched my children while I was away. I called my Mom when I arrived in Salt Lake City to let her know I was home and would pick up my children from school. She told me they had a big surprise waiting for me and if I went into my house without them, to keep it a secret. After hearing this I decided to go get my children from school early. My children were so excited they made me wait outside the house until they got in and then called for me. When I entered they shouted, "Happy Birthday" and there was a cool Happy Birthday Mom banner they had made. They each gave me two birthday cards and specially wrapped presents. The presents were books for me to read to them. My daughter also gave me her flash cards. LOL! They also helped my Mom make a cake and cupcakes. My Mom had ice cream in the freezer waiting for us too! It was fun to see my children so excited to celebrate my birthday!

My TDY to Dallas, Texas!

Image
My work sent me to Dallas, Texas to attend a training class on civil tax law suits. The training class was very informative; however, I do not think I get paid enough for what I am required to do. I am grateful I have a job, and I do love it, but the pay is not realistic! I have a job interview on Wednesday, May 28th for a promotion. This grade raise will allow me to work more challenging cases with more tax law involvement! Wish me luck! This was my first time in Texas. I didn't see very many cactus, which surprised me because I thought Texas was more of a desert state. Dallas was greener than I expected and the weather wasn't too bad either. I went to the Fort Worth Stock Yards. It was interesting to learn how they cared for the cattle, horses, sheep and pigs that were held there for sale! These animals were well taken care of and probably had better living conditions than some people in those days! I was even able to get a picture taken while on the back of this big ole long...

Eden Scrapbook Retreat!

Image
Last weekend I went to Brandy Jo's (my CTMH upline) scrapbook retreat in Eden, Utah. I had so much fun and laughed all night! I stayed up the whole night with three other girls. We all watched the sun rise. I haven't done that since I was in my 20s! Around 10am I started to regret it, and I felt like I was on drugs or something! Here is the layout that my up line Brandy Jo designed for us. I just love all the bright pretty colors. The pictures are of my daughter on her 5th birthday, last summer. My mom made the princess cake for her birthday, which she loved so much! Now, she will want Grandma to make her a cake every year! I made this layout after I seen my friend, Michelle Swiger, make one. We both used the same paper pack, but I changed mine a little to fit with my son's pictures. I love the stamp set that was used and may have to buy one for myself! The pictures are of my son at a miniature horse show last year! He looked so cute sitting there looking at the horses! I ...

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
I would like to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all Moms! My children have both been hugging me and telling me they love me all day! Yesterday, they were little devils , so it's nice to get the hugs today! My son made me this cute pencil holder with a flower pen and a paper basket with three flowers where each flower lists a different chore on it. He told me I could only choose one flower/chore. LOL ! He is so funny! My daughter made me a beautiful card with a picture of her and I on it. She also made me a cute envelope that had a key chain inside. The key chain was a picture of her. The two cute metal bird houses behind my daughter I bought for myself at Roberts! I decided I would hang something that wouldn't die this summer on the plant hangers in front of my house. Hoping everyone has had a wonderful day today!

UTA Front Runner!

Image
For over a year we have been watching the extra train tracks being built for UTA's Front Runner Train. The train runs from Plain City to Salt Lake City with several stops in between. We tried to ride the train on opening day, but the wait was around 3 hours for the free ride. We went back the following Monday and was able to get right on. The train was packed full of people and we had to stand. My daughter was able to squish in between some nice hobos who were also riding the train, because it was free! The train arrived, but was going north. We had to wait a few minutes more for the train heading south. It was a great opportunity to take a quick picture though! My son and girlfriend are ready to get on the train! Do you notice the stuffed animal on his back! I loved that he wanted to take his Cody with us! This shows me he is still my little boy! I will be sad when he stops doing stuff like this, because I'll know he's growing up! I don't want my children to grow up,...

Lagoon!

Image
We finally got our season passes for Lagoon! We love hanging out there all summer long! And this year we can ride the train (Front Runner) to Lagoon, rather than driving and trying to find a parking place! Yee Haw! Here is my daughter hanging out of a ride. She is finally tall enough to start riding some of the bigger rides, but she still loves all the kiddie rides too! It won't be long before she will be too tall for the kiddie rides, so I guess I should let her enjoy them as long as she can! Lagoon has a new ride this year, called the Odyssey ! It reminds me of the Dumbo ride at Disneyland, only this ride has water squirting at you! My son is finally tall enough to ride any ride he wants (big and kiddie)! I don't know if I am ready for him to ride all of the big rides. Some of the rides go too fast for his little brain and body!
