Snowflakes!

Image
This is my daughter on one of the first days it snowed in 2007. In the past she hated being outside in the snow, but she suddenly changed her mind and loved it. Good thing because we had record snow fall in the winter of 2007-2008! I bought this layout from some CTMH consultants who were selling them at retreat. The consultant was either Stacy Day or Ashley Meenderink who created the layout. I loved the layout, but had to add some of my own touches to it: I sewed 3 circles and added buttons all over. I added another hinge and moved 3 brads and put them on the letter S. I changed the letter S from green to pink and added ribbon. I also made a pocket page so I could journal and tuck extra pictures in it. It was nice to get a layout that was creative yet flexible to my needs! Thanks girls!

Sugar and Spice

Image
Here is a layout from the She Said Monthly Autoship club from A Page 4 All Seasons . The designer is Tamara Jensen . I just love all the layouts she creates! It is so nice to have these kits on hand. They are easy to do because everything is cut out for me and I can put it together quickly! This layout is one of my favorites. I love all the flowers on it. Don't you? These picture's were taken at a family reunion in Flagstaff, Arizona in August 2007. My uncle Carter had his horses take the older kids on trail rides in the morning, but wanted to wait until the evening for the little children to ride the horses around the fenced in area. I guess he didn't want the horses to get tired on the trail rides, so he did that first! My daughter had a hard time waiting until evening to ride a horse. When she would see the horses coming back from a trail ride she would get so excited thinking it would be her turn to ride. The excitement quickly turned to a crying spell when she saw the...

Down by the River in Yellowstone National Park

Image
These pictures were taken in July 2007 in Yellowstone National Park. My children loved all the wild animals, hotpots, and geysers they saw, but they hated all the driving. I love these pictures of my best friend and son down by the river (even though I hate the red outfit my son is wearing). My daughter was asleep in the car, so she missed out on these female elk. Of course elk can be seen everywhere in Yellowstone National Park, so my daughter was still able to see some. NOTE: I just barely added photos to this layout. The layout was done in November 2007, at a scrapbook retreat in Eden, Utah, that my up-line Brandy Jo did. The left side is from the December 2007 CTMH Workshop. The right side was created by Brandi Jo. I love this CTMH Free Spirit paper. It was designed by my cousin, Dustin Mackay . Check out his website to see other CTMH paper he has created. You will get a sneak peak at new paper coming out in the 2008 Summer Catalog! Colors: Indian Corn Blue, Cocoa, Honey, and Van...

The Wellsville Horse Parade

Image
My daughter LOVES horses! She wanted a real horse for her birthday. We don’t even live in a neighborhood that allows horses. And I could NOT even afford to buy a horse if I wanted to. So when I heard that Wellsville, Utah, was having a horse parade on my daughter’s 5th birthday (August 18, 2007), we had to go. I was a little disappointed in the horse parade, because it only had about 25 horses in it. I was hoping for a good hour or two of horses walking by! My daughter still LOVED it! And it was so nice of them to have it on her special day! My son doesn’t look happy in these pictures. I think he was getting tired of waiting for the parade to start and then it ended too fast. NOTE: This layout was scrap-lifted from page 18 of the CTMH Summer 2007 Idea Book and Catalog. Colors: Garden Green, Twilight, and Vanilla Cream Paper: CTMH CS and Flora Tapestry Stamps: Delightful Alphabet, and Storytime Accents: Brads, Flowers, Ribbon, Rub Ons, Dimensional Elements, and My Stickese Cherish: ...

U Stole My Heart

Image
This layout was inspired by Majorie Eno’s color challenge #9 . We had to use at least three of the following colors: Hollyhock, Sunkiss Yellow, Sweet Leaf, and Cranberry. Thanks, Marjorie, for inspiring me to be creative and use colors I would never think of using together. These pictures of my daughter were taken during the summer of 2007 when she was 4 ½ years old. She loves to wear her princess dresses. Every time we go to Disneyland she has to wear a princess dress at least one of the days. We take a different dress each year we go. At the end of the summer we are going to Disney World which will be a first for my children. My daughter wants to wear a Sleeping Beauty gown. My daughter is so excited and keeps asking if she needs to pack. Boy it will be a long summer with her asking every day! She also loves horses and loves riding the carousel horses. She has to talk to the horse after her ride and will always give it a kiss. She does that at Lagoon (an amusement park in Utah), too...

Love That Hat

Image
This layout was inspired by Carolyn Christie fun “Love that Hat” challenge which was posted on the CTMH art board. Thanks, Christine. I love the title of this layout, but I would have never used it if I didn’t do your challenge. These pictures of my son were taken during the spring of 2007 when he was 6 ½ years old. I look at these pictures and my son looks so much older now. Wow, how quickly they grow! The hat was bought at Disneyland and is from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas . My son loves that hat! He also loves his skateboard and is always asking to go to the skateboard park. When I take him, he and all the other young boys have to sit up top and wait until the older boys decide to take a rest. Otherwise, he would get knocked down. They almost need a skateboard park for the young boys and another for the older ones. My son looked at the pictures and asked what the 360 meant. I told him it was because that day he was flipping his skateboard completely around. He corrected...

Ariel

Image
I decided to take on Marjorie Eno's color challenge #8 where I had to use the colors listed above. At first I thought the color combination sounded weird, but later realized I had pictures of my daughter with Ariel which would look great with those colors. I am glad I took on the challenge and can't wait to do more! These pictures were taken in June 2007. Last year Ariel was my daughter's favorite Disney Princess and so far this year she still loves her the best. My daughter asked me the other day if she could have a bra like Ariel. I laughed and found it funny that she thinks Ariel is wearing a bra. My children and I love Disneyland. We go every year. I loved going there even before I had my children. One of my sisters went and said she didn't really care for it. I told my friend Andrea (who goes to Disney World every other year) and she said that my sister must have not felt the magic! I agree, she never felt the magic! Colors: White Daisy, Sunny Yellow, Clover Meado...

Dad U Inspire Me

Image
I entered this layout in a contest Close To My Heart had back in October 2007, at an Album Retreat in Park City, Utah. I love these pictures of my Dad. They were taken at a Poulsen Family Reunion back in August 2007, down in Flagstaff, Arizona. The other gentleman sitting next to my Dad is my uncle Mark. The big picture is always how my Dad looks. I did not win 1st place, but I did get in the top 10! You cannot see the journaling. It reads: Dad, I'll bet you never knew how much you inspired me through out the years! I've learned so much growing up with you as my dad. Although I don't do everything you do, I've always watched and learned from your example! Your being frugal has shown me the importance of watching my pennies. I'm so proud you've never been in debt considering the state of our crazy world. I really do admire that about you! You faithfully attended church every Sunday staying steadfast to the rod. Always teaching me how important Christ is in our l...
