My Adventurous Life

My family all met at my oldest sister's house for Thanksgiving this year. My children and I stayed in a motel near the Manti temple. I loved seeing the temple all lit up each night. My children and I learned a new game called "Fugitive." The game is played by having one or more people drive around in one or more vehicles pretending to be the cops, while searching for the fugitives. If a cop finds a fugitive(s) they honk their horn and the fugitive(s) comes out of hiding. The fugitive(s) try to get from point A to point B without being caught by the cops. The game is played in the night. When I first played the game I was a cop, which made me nervous because I couldn't find my eight year old son. Later I decided to be a fugitive, which was a blast. I was in a group with three of my nieces. We hid in bushes, dumpsters, behind vehicles and in ditches. I haven't had this much fun since my college days! And I felt like a teenager again! My daughter had to dress up like an Indian or a Pilgrim for school. She wanted to be an Indian, but I couldn't find a cheap costume and wasn't creative enough to figure out how to make one quick enough. The night before I wound up finding a Pilgrim get-up, which included a hat, collar and buckles for shoes. It was for a price I could afford, so I bought it. My daughter was sad because she still wanted to be an Indian. However, she liked the Pilgrim hat after she tried it on and was happy. I told her she looked more like a Pilgrim than an Indian anyway. She asked why I said that and I said because she had white skin. She looked at me with a growl on her face and told me her skin was not white, but skin color! At her school party one of the Dad's had brought several Indian costumes for all the children who didn't have one. My daughter was mad again, because if I had not bought her a costume, she would have gotten the Indian costume she wanted!

Yesterday when I was dropping my children off at school right before heading to work, my daughter handed me a quarter. I asked her what the money was for and she replied, she wanted to pay her taxes so the IRS wouldn't come take her toys! I guess she's been listening to me talk about work and quickly caught on about what I do. LOL!

Last weekend my son attended a birthday party for a classmate from school. The party was at the movie theater where they watched Madagascar 2. Sounds fun right? My son came home from the birthday party and complained his back hurt from sitting so long and he should have stayed home because he had THINGS he wanted to do. I asked him what THINGS did he want to do. My eyes probably popped out of my head when he replied he wanted to lift weights and run on the treadmill. Is he my son? I am glad he likes to exercise! He even had my daughter wanting to walk on the treadmill. I really should take him jogging with me. He could probably give me a good workout! Guess what my son is asking Santa Clause for? My father baptized my son on Saturday. I'm so grateful for my father and all he has done and still does for me and my children! Thank you dad. I love you! I was so happy to see all of my family and friends at the Baptism. Even my aunt Debbie and my cousin Frank showed up. Thanks to everyone who attended and supported my son in this special occasion! We love you all. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful gifts he received. He may have quickly went through them while everyone was watching but that's because he is somewhat shy in that type of instance. Later that evening he went back through the gifts with great excitement. He read in his new scriptures, inserted some of the scripture stickers, thumbed through the books, and even wrote in the journal. The next day he watched some of the DVDs he received too.
