We finally got our season passes for Lagoon! We love hanging out there all summer long! And this year we can ride the train (Front Runner) to Lagoon, rather than driving and trying to find a parking place! Yee Haw! Here is my daughter hanging out of a ride. She is finally tall enough to start riding some of the bigger rides, but she still loves all the kiddie rides too! It won't be long before she will be too tall for the kiddie rides, so I guess I should let her enjoy them as long as she can! Lagoon has a new ride this year, called the Odyssey ! It reminds me of the Dumbo ride at Disneyland, only this ride has water squirting at you! My son is finally tall enough to ride any ride he wants (big and kiddie)! I don't know if I am ready for him to ride all of the big rides. Some of the rides go too fast for his little brain and body!

I went to the USA Scrapbook Expo a few weeks ago and picked up a bunch of kits from a new on-line store called A Page For All Seasons . The on-line store was created by one of the scrapbook teachers that used to work at the scrapbook store All My Memories (AMM). AMM is now closed. I always used to stop by AMM when I was working in the Draper area. I loved seeing all the cute classes they taught. I never took a class because I didn't want to make the long trip back to Draper in the evening. So, when I first heard that AMM was closing, I was sad. Now I am happy, because all of those great teachers now make kits for A Page For All Seasons and I can go on-line and buy all the kits I want. Here I two kits I made this weekend:

This cute little guy is my sister’s foster son. He is the cutest kid and he always gives me hugs when I see him. My sister currently has him and three of his siblings along with her five children. Yes, that is NINE children! She is a Super Mom! I love and respect her and her husband for all they do! This layout is for a 9X9 swap I am doing with my unit. We will do the swap at our scrapbook retreat in Eden, Utah next week. I can’t wait to see what the other girls have created. The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is located in Woldenberg Riverfront Park in the historic French Quarter’s riverfront in Louisianna. We saw lots of aquatic species of North and South America. After Hurricane Katrina the aquarium lost a lot of the species, because no one was able to feed and care for them. We were there almost a year later in July 2006, and they were not at the level they had before the hurricane. It was still fun to see! NOTE: This layout was inspired by Marjorie Eno's color challenge #12. We had to use at least three of these colors: Orchard Bouquet, Citrus Leaf, Pink Carnation, and Crystal Blue. I ended up only using the first two colors and added three others, so it didn’t up working for her challenge ! Soccer season is here again! My Saturday mornings are busy running from one game to another. My daughter is not the athletic girl I had hoped for, but I will keep my fingers crossed and maybe when she gets older she will love to play sports. Right now she loves soccer for the treats! The nice thing about a digital camera is that you can keep taking pictures until you get the one you want. Usually my daughter is standing around letting everyone else kick the ball, but today she decided to play soccer! I am amazed! This is what my daughter usually does in her soccer games. See how she is right at the ball! Hee-hee! Here is a picture of my son hard at work playing goalie! He looks ready for that ball, huh? My son loves soccer and really seems to do a great job! I have been so busy and haven't had time to post anything! This story happened a few weeks ago, but I want to share it with you! A few weeks ago my daughter was talking about a ghost with my son, which lead to a conversation about Satan. My daughter was scared and didn't want to go to bed. My son asked me if he could read her a book, so she would not be afraid anymore. He brought out his scriptures and asked my daughter if she wanted him to read "words from God or words from Mormon." She choose "words of Mormon." He started reading the Book of Mormon and I was amazed. He read the words perfectly. And guess what? She was no longer afraid. It really worked. I was amazed, because he did not learn this from me. He must have learned it from school (he goes to a Christian school) or church. I don't read the scriptures . I find the children's scripture books to be more enjoyable and that is what I read. Anyway, the next day he read the Book of Mormon in t...

Here is another layout with pictures from the Audubon Zoo located in Louisiana. Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana on August 29, 2005. We were there almost a year later (July 2006) and the damage could still be seen all around. The zoo is located right off the Mississippi River. We rode a ferry to get to the zoo, which was a lot of fun! Even though the zoo had damage, this was one of my favorite zoos. Each area was designed with a special theme. I loved all the sculptures that were located throughout the zoo. My children loved the zoo too, but had a hard time with the heat and high humidity. NOTE: This layout was inspired by Marjorie Eno's color challenge #11 . We had to use at least three of these colors: Heavenly Blue, Sweet Leaf, Buttercup, and Chocolate. Las Vegas was fun. My children are getting older now and notice things I would rather they didn't. The first thing they noticed was a big sign (right by our motel) of a girl's bum in a jeweled thong! My daughter kept calling the sign "Miss Fancy Pants." One night we walked down the strip to the fountains at the Bellagio. I forgot about the sex calling cards that get passed out at night and quickly realized the mistake I made. I was hoping my children wouldn't notice the nude girls on the cards, which were lying all over the street, but they did. My daughter said, "Mom they have a lot of pictures here in Las Vegas to make kids laugh." I later asked my son what he thought of all the cards on the ground. He said, "Not good!" My daughter had a hard time with all the smoking. She said they smoke a lot in Las Vegas. One man was smoking a cigar and my daughter stopped and pointed at him and said, "Look at that big smoker!"
