Can I have a CAT?

Image
I found this interesting note taped to my work computer today, it was from my daughter. It reads: Wy cant We get a Cat or a cute Kittin She always begs for a pet. She has asked for a horse, cat, dog, bird, hamster, crab and even a fish. I always tell her they poop, so she can't have any animal! Then I remind her she already has 8 dogs, 3 horses, and 2 hamsters on her Nintendo DS and she can go play with them anytime she feels like. LOL! I had pets (before my children) and decided I hate the smell and the mess pets make, and am bound and determined not to have another one in my home!

Wow, Look At My Mail Today!

Image
I came home from work today to find the following items in my mail box: The New Summer 2009 Idea Book from Close to My Heart (CTMH), the new Key Notes from CTMH, and the May 2009 Creating Keepsakes Magazine. I also had my latest order (the box) from CTMH waiting at my door! I couldn't wait to dig in to all of this mail........ However it would have to wait........ Because........ My daughter had a LOT of homework: Spanish, spelling, memory scripture, reading and LOTS of math "correct and returns" to do. and........ My son also had the following homework: Reading, spelling and memory scripture. After homework it was time to eat........I cooked tacos. Then my children had to take baths and get ready for bed........ By the time all of this was done, it was time to watch The Biggest Loser........currently my favorite TV show! Finally, it was 10:00 pm and by that time I was too sleepy, so I went to bed!

It Was The Not Me Ghost!

I love short hair. It is easy to take care of and quick to style. I have always kept my daughter's hair short and she hates it. I do not like long hair, because it is a pain to brush and tangles so easy. The tangles only make little girls cry. My daughter hates short hair, so I recently agreed to let her grow it longer. My daughter loves to do her own hair, which drives me crazy. I wonder what her teacher thinks when my daughter shows up to school with some of the hair styles she does herself. The other day she pulled her hair back in a pony tail and a bunch of hair (from the side) fell out of the pony tail. Once my daughter noticed the hair she quickly pulled the pony tail out and proceeded to do something different to her hair. The next day I talked her into letting me blow dry and curl her hair. I love her hair just after it has been washed and blown dry. I noticed some pieces of hair that were short. When her hair was recently trimmed the lady layered it a bit, but these pieces...

Gathering Food Storage!

Image
I have been a Mormon - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) all my life. Growing up LDS we were always told by the Prophets about the importance of gathering a two-year supply of food. Having a sort-of-weak testimony, I have never listened to the Prophets and never gathered a two-year supply of food. I have always had a three months supply of canned food in my home, which has always worked for me. Of course I have never lived through a disaster or loss of a job to see the importance of a two-year supply of food. The importance of a two-year supply of food didn't hit me until this past Thanksgiving when I seen my oldest sister and her husband starting to really prepare. Then came January this year when my bishop started stressing the importance of preparing for an emergency and building a 1 year (as a minimum) supply of food. I listened and started gathering, but today when my bishop stressed it some more, I walked away feeling I need to gather some food and supplies m...

Happy Leprechaun Day!

Image
Happy Leprechaun day! You didn't know it was today did you? You thought it was March 17? Well your wrong! March 17 was St. Patrick's Day. That is the day your children go to school wearing green, so other children won't pinch them. Or, if you're like my son you make sure it is green underwear, so no body knows you have green on and if they pinch you, you can pinch them back. St. Patrick's Day is also the day my children learn about the 3 small leaflets on a shamrock and what they represent: The three parts of the Holy Trinity. "First is God the Father, then Jesus, His only Son, and the Holy Spirit together as One." Yep, that's what my children learned at their school on St. Patrick's Day. My children didn't learn about any leprechauns at their school on St. Patrick Day. The good thing about a Christian school is there is no talk about funny little elves with hidden gold, a fat jolly old soul called Santa Clause, or a fine furry friend known as ...

Snow, SnOw, SnOW and more SNOW!

Image
We woke up this morning to another SNOW storm! I really wish I knew how to ski, because maybe then I would LOVE all of this snow! I do love how pretty it looks, but I am ready for a change: WARMTH and SUN! After all I bought a new pair of flip-flops and a girl can't wear her flip-flops in the snow! Also, my children start soccer this week and I don't want to sit outside in the cold snowy wet weather watching their soccer games!

Fun at the Movie and Fat Cats!

Image
My children had fun spending the day with their cousins. We went to the movie Monsters vs Aliens and later to Fat Cats to play games. Can you believe my brother-in-law came without my sister? He's the best! (Note to brother-in-law: Have I maintained my A+ sister-in-law status? Hee-Hee!)

Backward Pants!

Image
My nephew had his pants on backwards today. I laughed so hard when I noticed. His mom told me he dressed himself. He is such a cutie!

I Am A Child Of God - A Different Version!

Image
I love reading books about true stories and always have. I recently read the book The Burning Within, by Ranelle Wallace . It's her true story about a plane crash she survived with her husband, and what she experienced when she passed on and returned to the living after being critically burned. I love the book. It reminded me that we are not really humans having a spiritual experience, but spirits having a human experience. I often forget that! I also love reading blogs of people I have never met. I think it is because its true life stories and I'm given the opportunity to read it while its is happening! I find myself attracted to the blogs with tragic life experiences. Anyhow, I was following a blog about a baby girl named Gracie . She was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). I have been busy lately and hadn't read her blog for about a month. I decided to check it out the other day and was sad to find little Gracie had passed on. Her blog ( March 6 post ) had...

Report Card Time = Free Donuts!

Image
My children both brought home SUPER report cards, so I took them to Krispy Kream to get their FREE donuts! My son was so hungry he ate 3 donuts right away! It surprised me because he ate an apple in the car before we got there. I guess I don't need to cook dinner now. I told them they could each choose an activity to do this week for their good grades. My daughter said: "A horse, I want a horse Mom." I had to remind her she needed to choose an activity. She later said she wanted to go swimming. I told her the movie Monsters vs Aliens was out, but it didn't matter she still wanted to go swimming. I was hopping my son would chose the movie, but he said: "I want to play games at Fat Cats!" Okay so now what was I going to do? Neither of them choose the movie! Oh well, I'm sure I'll fit it in somehow! I know we will have a fun weekend!

More SNOW for SPRING!

Image
The sun shined bright today, which made the fresh fallen snow look so beautiful on the mountains! It was also windy today. The wind was coming from the north and made it bitter cold! I know warm weather will be here soon, I hope it hurries. I am excited for some warm sunny days!

Where is Spring?

Image
I woke up this morning to a SNOW STORM. I thought spring was here. Oh yeah, I live in Utah! The snow top mountains with fog hovering over them was pretty, but I am ready for the weather to get warmer!

My House

Image
MY KITCHEN: The picture above is the kitchen in my current home. I like my kitchen, but would love a larger one. I do however hate the counter tops and fake tile floor! I know my chairs don't match my table. I recently painted my table black and plan to paint the chairs black when the weather gets warmer. THE HOME I FELL IN LOVE WITH: The kitchen in the post below is from a home I wanted to buy. I fell in love with that home and got my heart broken today when I found out someone has already put an offer on it, which was higher than mine. I know what amount I can afford. My children currently attend private school and I want to keep them at that school, so I'm not going to out bid the other people! I will just wait and see if their loan goes through or not and/or start looking again. MY CURRENT HOME: My current home is 5 1/2 years old. I fell in love with it the day I walked in it and knew it was something I could afford. The home is 3 levels, which I didn't think would be a...

Remodel OR Move?

Image
I am trying to decide if I should remodel my current home or move to a new home! Here is a picture of the kitchen from the home I am looking at.
