Football Finally!

Image
My son has been begging to play football since he was 5 years old and he finally hit the age and weight requirement to play this year! He needed to be 7 years old and 40 pounds. He is 7 years old (almost 8) and 51 pounds. Yee Haw!!! He doesn't have his jersey yet, but I was so excited that I had to get a picture of him in all the pads. I can't wait to see him play and to scrapbook the memories. August 16th is his first game! He has football practice 5 days a week for 90 minutes each. Wow! He will need to start eating more or he will lose weight and be too light to play! LOL! Today I was going to walk around the field while he practiced, but it was too hot (about 98 degrees). Or was I just so proud to watch my son doing something he has wanted for so long and finally experiencing it. So I was lazy and just sat in the shade smiling and watching my son get the workout of his life. And guess what? He loved it! That's my son for ya! He loves to exercise. I swear, he will never b...

Snowflakes!

Image
This is my daughter on one of the first days it snowed in 2007. In the past she hated being outside in the snow, but she suddenly changed her mind and loved it. Good thing because we had record snow fall in the winter of 2007-2008! I bought this layout from some CTMH consultants who were selling them at retreat. The consultant was either Stacy Day or Ashley Meenderink who created the layout. I loved the layout, but had to add some of my own touches to it: I sewed 3 circles and added buttons all over. I added another hinge and moved 3 brads and put them on the letter S. I changed the letter S from green to pink and added ribbon. I also made a pocket page so I could journal and tuck extra pictures in it. It was nice to get a layout that was creative yet flexible to my needs! Thanks girls!

Spring Break in Las Vegas!

Image
These pictures are from Spring Break in Las Vegas, Nevada. My children love to swim and had a fun time in Las Vegas. I copied this layout from another CTMH consultant, Barbara LaMunion . I love the layouts she creates and may just have to scrap lift a few more. I did this layout at a retreat and I was so sleepy when I did it that the right side ended up being an 11X11 instead of a 12X12! LOL! I had to go add a strip of paper on the side and top to fix it!

Train Rides!

Image
You have already seen these pictures. They are from our ride on the Front Runner Train. My children loved the train ride. I ride it to work when I can, to save money, now that gas is so high! The ride from my home to work is 1 hour 15 minutes total. It is nice to sit and sleep or read and not deal with traffic once in awhile. A fellow CTMH consultant and team member, Stacy Day, made this layout. I added mini-brads, ribbon and rick-rack and made a pocket page on the right side to place a sheet of card stock to journal on. I also placed a sheet of card stock for each of my children, so that they could write what they remembered about the train ride. My daughter mostly drew picture's.

Mommy and Me!

Image
You've see these pictures before. They are from Mother's Day this past May. My children made these presents in school. They were so happy when they gave the presents to me. The layout idea is not my own. I got the idea from another CTMH consultant, Barbara LaMunion . The colors matched our clothes perfectly.

Mom's Little Pirate

Image
This is not a new layout, but it is one of my favorites, so I wanted to share it with everyone. I have so many layouts of Disneyland, because we go every year! We love that place. We would be sad if we missed a year of going! I was 23 the first time I went and I have been going back every year since! This year will be a little different because we are going to Disney World in Florida. We are excited! And it will be a first for my children. These picture's were taken 2 years ago in Disneyland. Every time we go to Disneyland I get a picture of my son trying to pull the sword from the stone. One day, after I get a few more pictures, I plan on scrapbooking a layout with a picture of each year, so he can see how he has grown. It should be a cute layout! I don't always buy mickey ears! My children would have too many if I bought one every time we went. I usually have my children choose some ears to try on so I can take a picture. My son doesn't care to wear the ears anyway, so it...

August Workshop

Image
My workshop will be on the following days: Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 6-9pm Friday, August 15, 2008 from 6-10pm Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 8:30 am to Noon I copied this layout form the CTMH Summer 2008 Idea Book, on page 76. I loved this layout when I first saw it and knew I would have to do it. NOTE: Click on the image to enlarge! These pictures were taken of my son in 2002 when he was 2 years old. My daughter and my sister's son were born that year and are also in this layout with my son.

Camping Fun!

Image
I decided to finally take my children camping. I have never taken them before, because I was always afraid. Although, before I had children, I used to camp all the time with my girlfriends and for some reason I was never afraid! Not having a big strong man in the house gives a different perspective on things, especially when you have children. Maybe it is just the fact that I am now responsible for two precious souls and not just myself! My children loved camping and I could not believe how safe we were. The rangers came by to check on us throughout the day and even the night. They even asked if my children were okay, when they were not in view. At night the rangers locked the gate to the camp grounds, so no one can come in and the police walked around and patrolled the camp sites throughout the night! Yes, the police! I was able to scrapbook a layout while I was camping. LOL! It probably smells like campfire now. I will post it when I get pictures on it. I wanted to scrap book more, b...

My Daughter and Dogs!

Image
My daughter loves animals and begs me everyday for a dog, cat, horse or something! I always tell her no, because they poop! She will have to wait until she is 18 and on her own before she gets a pet! Hopefully, I won't give in to her puppy dog eyes when she begs for a pet! Okay I had to slip this picture in, so you could check out my daughter's hair! It's not that ofter that she lets me do something fun. I got the idea from this web site She Does Hair . You should check out all the cute hair styles! This dog is my nieces and my daughter just loves him. She was supposed to take care of him while my niece was at girls camp, but never ended up doing it! My daughter found this dog at the park on the 4th of July. She read his collar and told me his name was RaDies (Rabies)! My sister's and I laughed so hard because she read the rabies tag and thought it was his name. This dog was super friendly and hopped into a few of our cars when we were ready to leave! On the way home...

4th of July Fun!

Image
My children and I had a lot of fun on the 4th of July. We spent the whole day with family! Here are my two cuties getting a picture at home before the parade! I hope they don't ever get tired of me taking their picture! I always like taking a picture of everyone putting their hand over their heart as the flag comes down the street, but sometimes I feel its disrespectful of me to be taking a picture! So this year I quickly took the picture before the flag got too close to us, so I had time to turn around and pay my respect to the flag and for the freedoms I enjoy in this great country we live in! Here is my best friend and my daughter! My children totally love and adore her! She has to keep on her toes, because my children are watching every move she makes and they want to be just like her! I hope she behaves! I had my toes painted all fancy for the 4th of July. My daughter wanted her toes done too, so my friend painted them for her. I wanted a picture of the fancy toes and had my...

Wendover Fun!

Image
My children and I went to Wendover, Nevada with some friends for a quick get-a-way! I don't gamble, so I hung out at the pool all day with my children. I scrapbooked a few layouts, but had to be creative because it was windy and my papers kept blowing away! We decided to go for a drive and found ourselves in a subdivision of Wendover. We seen a cross on the hill and went to take a look. We found a Catholic church and a mound with 13 crosses set-up in a circle with a larger cross in the center with Christ on it and a statute of his mother Mary. My friend who was raised Catholic said it appears to be what is called "the stations of the cross." We looked at each of the 13 crosses and they each had a different picture of Christ on it. It was neat to see! We also went to the city cemetery, but I didn't take any pictures. It is funny what people put on loved ones graves! A jug of water, toys, stuffed animals, pictures, letters, rocks?! What is the jug of water for anyway? ...
