My Adventurous Life

I love my daughter, but when she dresses herself she NEVER matches. I always tell her she doesn't match and she always telling me I'm wrong. Then she quickly proceeds to point out how, in fact, she DOES match. I know my daughter has Pajama pants to go with that top and a Pajama top to go with those pants. She must find them plain and boring! Instead she chose a pink top with cats and pink pants with cats. PINK and PINK, CATS and CATS! See they do MATCH!! Silly Mommy!

My son came home from scouts and ran into the house excited to show me he made dinner for us. I'm sure his scout leader had done most of it, but my son was still so excited and proud to show me what he had done at scouts. Dinner was homemade potato and broccoli soup with yummy warm bread sticks. I took a picture after we ate, that's why the basket looks so empty. My son had written things he was thankful for on the feathers of the turkey. What a cute idea! I think I am loving scouts and the affects it has on my son!

We went to Body Worlds 3 last week and were fascinated by what we saw. It was better than anything you could have ever seen in a science class! It was interesting to see what our body looks like on the inside. I was amazed the uterus was a lot smaller than I ever imagined. It reminded me of a little coin purse. The liver and stomach are a lot bigger than I thought too. No wonder why I can eat so much food! LOL! We were able to view healthy organs and damaged ones. We even got to see a cross section of an obese man. I walked away wanting to take better care of my body! They also had several embryos to view at multiple stages of gestation. I never knew the fingers could be seen after only a few months. It was amazing to see how the heart, brain, & spinal chord are the first organs formed when we begin life. I came downstairs the other day to see my son on top of my scrapbook armoire. Apparently he was getting his ball which found it's way up there. He didn't get up there by himself, my friend helped him. Thank goodness he can't climb that high on his own yet! I want to tell a story about my son from a few weeks ago. A boy from scouts called my son a nerd. He asked my girl friend what "nerd" meant. She said if anyone called him a nerd to smile and say thank you, because it means you are smart. A few days later my son and I were going through a haunted house. My son grabbed my hand and said, "Hurry up you nerd!" Then he looked up at me and said, "Mom are you smart?"

Yesterday when I was dropping my children off at school right before heading to work, my daughter handed me a quarter. I asked her what the money was for and she replied, she wanted to pay her taxes so the IRS wouldn't come take her toys! I guess she's been listening to me talk about work and quickly caught on about what I do. LOL!

Last weekend my son attended a birthday party for a classmate from school. The party was at the movie theater where they watched Madagascar 2. Sounds fun right? My son came home from the birthday party and complained his back hurt from sitting so long and he should have stayed home because he had THINGS he wanted to do. I asked him what THINGS did he want to do. My eyes probably popped out of my head when he replied he wanted to lift weights and run on the treadmill. Is he my son? I am glad he likes to exercise! He even had my daughter wanting to walk on the treadmill. I really should take him jogging with me. He could probably give me a good workout! Guess what my son is asking Santa Clause for? This layout was designed by Lynette Kankamp . She is a Close To My Heart (CTMH) consultant/director and has earned 7 cruises through CTMH, which means she sells a lot of CTMH product. She had a booth at the USA Scrapbook Expo a few months ago and had this layout for a take-and-make project. These pictures are of my son's first day of school this year! I would have never thought of doing a pastel school layout, but it really turned out nicely and matches his uniform. I love his teacher. She is so talented and my son is never bored in her class. His first report card was straight A's. I'm so proud of him. I just hope one day when/if he gets a B he won't be disappointed. My daughter's report card was also super. She got A's and B's! She worked very hard for her grades! Her Penmanship and Phonograms were the two classes she got B's. I don't know how she got an A out of Spanish, but I'm glad she did!!

This layout is from a workshop that my up-line Brandy Jo did this past summer. I finally got around to putting pictures on it. These pictures are from the 4th of July parade 2008. I have so many pictures I will have to do another layout.

Look at the gift I received in the mail. Jena made me this cute 2-sided coaster frame! When I got it I was so excited that I quickly found picture's for each side. I also received some Hugz and Big Eyelets with a card. Thank you so much Jena! You're a great CTMH Blogging sister!

My father baptized my son on Saturday. I'm so grateful for my father and all he has done and still does for me and my children! Thank you dad. I love you! I was so happy to see all of my family and friends at the Baptism. Even my aunt Debbie and my cousin Frank showed up. Thanks to everyone who attended and supported my son in this special occasion! We love you all. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful gifts he received. He may have quickly went through them while everyone was watching but that's because he is somewhat shy in that type of instance. Later that evening he went back through the gifts with great excitement. He read in his new scriptures, inserted some of the scripture stickers, thumbed through the books, and even wrote in the journal. The next day he watched some of the DVDs he received too. When my son first choose his costume, the Grim Reaper , my daughter was frightened and wouldn't look at the mask. She claimed she was going to have nightmares from his costume. She quickly over came her fear on Halloween and never mentioned her earlier fears. My children had so much fun trick-or-treating this year. They met up with their cousins at church for a trunk-or-treat and hit a few homes along the way home. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to trick-or-treat in the daylight!

As I laid in my bed one night and gently reached under my pillow for my remote control I found a most interesting item by its side. It was a rock, a Prayer Rock to be exact. For some reason, it kept finding its way under my pillow. Night after night, the same rock appeared with the same smiling face saying "pray." Later I found my children (mostly my son) were giving me a most precious hint by placing this prayer rock under my pillow each night. When they were younger we always had family prayer each night. This past year I've been so busy that our family prayer fell to the wayside. A while back I told my son we need to get back into the habit of saying our prayers again. He said he always says his prayers and it was I who needed to start saying prayers again. The other day I even caught my daughter saying her prayers in the back seat of the car. I asked what she was praying for and she said she was asking for forgiveness of all her sins. What a little cutie she is. I...

All the snow we had at the first of October quickly melted and we wound up with an Indian summer! It was nice to wear our shorts again and play in the fall leaves!

My sister was hospitalized a few weeks ago and needed help with her children because her husband was gone hunting. The night I watched them we carved pumpkins to keep busy so they wouldn't miss their Mom and Dad so much. Her children had lots of fun, as did mine!
