My Adventurous Life

It's was 100 degrees during my son's first football game of the season. I don't know how those boy's can stand playing in this heat! I can hardly stand to sit and watch when it is this hot. It is far too hot for me! My son played an awesome game. He played both offense and defense where he played nearly the entire game. The score was 32-Roy and 0-Clinton. Roy had even made two additional touch-downs the referees threw out due to flags and penalties called, otherwise they would have slaughtered them by even more than they did. Way to go Roy!

Lily was looking a little wild so we scheduled a puppy shampoo and cut. She had her first haircut today. The lady at PetsMart said she sat quietly and did very well for a new puppy. Now she smells yummy and her fur is satiny soft. And look how cute she is with bows in her hair!

Where did summer go? I can't believe my children are back in school already. I feel like we didn't go camping enough...darn it! My children are happy to be back in school with all of their friends. My daughter has an awesome teacher (My son's teacher from last year), so I'm excited and I know she will be able to handle my wild child. My son's teacher is new to us, so we will have to see how she pans out and if she will be able to keep my son on track and from being bored! I hope this will be another fun and exciting school year for them.

My baby girl turned seven earlier this week. I can't believe how fast those seven years have gone and how much she has grown. I love my daughter so much and each word she speaks is more precious than the last. Her constant chatter and simple analogies continually make me laugh. Her strong will, independence, and rebellious yet most loving nature makes me cry because her zest for life and love for everyone and everything is so evident . I can't imagine not looking into those bright beautiful brown eyes each night and waking up to them each morning. I love her so much. Life without her is nonexistent, and I am so glad she is one of the great loves of my life!

My daughter has been begging me for a kitten, a dog, a horse and/or a hamster. I hate pets, so I would always tell her, NO, NO, NO and NO. Only to have her look at me with her big brown sad puppy dog eyes which would say "PLEEEASE!" Well, I finally gave in to those sad puppy dog eyes and bought my daughter a puppy last week! The day before I bought the puppy, I was telling everyone I was going to wait a year. Well, my year turned into ONE DAY! My daughter named the puppy Lily. She is 3/4 Maltese and 1/4 Pomeranian. Her parents both weighed 4.5 pounds, so she too should be a very small dog (small dog = small poop). She is cute, cuddly, and I do love her (even though I hate dogs). Lily is currently 9 weeks old. Our first week with her has been a blast! She is such a fun puppy and is a joy to have around. We all love her. Today my son picked her up and told her how much he loves her, which I thought was cute!

My mother had a birthday the other day! My children and I love and adore her. She is the best mother and grandmother a person could ever have. She is kind and generous. Anytime I need my mother's help she is ready and quickly moves into action. I am so lucky to have a mother that is wiling and able to help. In my career I have been on several TDYs, which have taken me away from home. In the past my mother would come with me on these TDYs to watch and care for my children, allowing me to go to work and still see my children in the evening. Once my children started school and I was unable to take them on these TDYs. My mother still helped. She would move into my home and take care of my children while I was away (one time I was away for 5 weeks and a few months later I was away for an additional 4 weeks). My mother has even watched my sick children, when I have be unable to pull away from work. She has even picked them up from school when they weren't feeling well. My mother keep...

I get the MOTHER of the YEAR award.....the TOOTH FAIRY never came last night! That is because the TOOTH FAIRY was SCRAPBOOKING until 1:00 a.m. and FORGOT all about her DAUGHTER who LOST her tooth! My poor daughter was so DISAPPOINTED. The Tooth Fairy QUICKLY ran upstairs (not waiting until night fall) and put a BUCK under my daughter's pillow, because she didn't want to forget AGAIN. My daughter was happy when she later found the money under her pillow! My SON looked at me with eyes that said.... I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

I took some time off this past week to hang out with my children. However, I ended up being busy and I think my children felt like they were "Home Alone" because they made up the "Home Alone" Club! The sign (which I forgot to take a picture of) showed the cost to enter the club (10 cents or Free if you are a friend). They even tried to spend the night in their club house! I love how they set up the club in the front room, where I do NOT like them playing! I guess it is because it had a perfect corner to hang blankets.

We stopped at Multnomah Falls located just outside of Portland, Oregon along the Columbia River. We were tired, but hiked to the base of the falls anyhow. My son wanted to hike to the top of the falls and encouraged me to join him, while my daughter stayed behind with my friend. I was glad I agreed to go. The hike to the top was beautiful! This was THE END of our Oregon vacation. It had been one of the funnest vacations yet! We will most definitely come back to Oregon to see the ocean again!
