Report Cards!

Image
My children both had excellent report cards for the second quarter. My son's report card was perfect. He was disappointed because it was a perfect report card! Go figure! My daughter's report card was very good! She received eight Es (E for excellent) and five Gs (G for good). I am so proud of my children and their excellent report cards. I let them each choose something fun to do on the weekend as a reward. My daughter chose swimming and my son chose miniature golf.

Another Spelling Bee

Image
My daughter was one of two children to represent her school in the first grade district spelling bee. She ended up getting out on the first round. She missed the word mouse . She spelled it M-O-W-S. She was spelling it exactly how it sounds! I'm still proud of her!

A Conversation about President Barack Obama.

Image
President Barack Obama was on the television screen when my daughter and I had the following conversation: Daughter (D): Mom, do we have to listed to him? Me (M): Yes, we need to listed to him. D: Dang it! M: He is the new president of our country, so we need to respect him. D: Is he going to kill our babies? She is talking about abortion. M: No, he is not going to kill any babies, people will make sure of that. D: Do you like him now? M: I didn't vote for him, but maybe we should give him a chance. Our country has a lot of problems. Hopefully, he will fix some of those problems. D: He can't help me with my problems! NOTE: This past week, President Obama reverses abortion-funds policy . He has taken a direction I don't agree with!

Happy Birthday!

My best friend turned 43! It seem like just yesterday we were teenagers in high school worrying about what fun activity we were going to do on Friday! Wow, how time flies! My daughter insisted she get a birthday cake, so we could sing happy birthday and celebrate properly. LOL! Happy Birthday Dar!

The Draper Temple

Image
We toured the new Draper, Utah temple. It was very beautiful inside. I loved all the large pictures of Christ our Lord on the walls. I would love to live in a house with tons of pictures like what we seen in this temple! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints now have 12 temples in Utah with their 13th (Oquirrh Mountain Temple) almost complete in South Jordan. Wow!

A Walk with the Dinosaurs

Image
My children and I went with a friend to see A Walk with the Dinosaurs . The minute we walked into the arena, you could hear the roars from the dinosaurs. These roars in the background scared my daughter. The show was G-rated, so I knew she would be okay. The dinosaurs looked and sounded real as they walked around the arena. It was so cool! A man narrated the show and told about the dinosaurs and the time period they lived in. Both of my children loved the show and were sitting on the edge of their seats!

Project 365 - Week 3

Sunday was family game night. My children and I played Life. I was losing and eventually had only $100, so my children made up new rules to help me. Wasn't that nice of them?! Monday when my son got home from school and walked into the house the door hit him. He started punching and kicking the wall and the door. He was definately ANGRY! He said he hated school, homework, chores and the stupid door that just hit him. He wanted to just stay home and play on the computer all day, like what he did on Christmas Vacation! WOW, he was really angry?! He had a bad day at school too, his teacher said he was orange (green is the best, yellow is warning, orange is bad). This was the first time (this year) he was orange at school! I got food down him FAST, and had him take a bath and get in his P.J.s. I spent time with him and took some pictures of him with his favorite stuffed animals. He even had me take individual pictures of each stuffed animal. We talked and he got to feeling better ri...
