My children and I usually make Christmas sugar cookies every December. This year I didn't have the energy to make them in one day, so instead, we took three days to go through the process. The first day we made the dough. The 2nd day we rolled out the dough, cut out the cookies, and baked them. The 3rd day we frosted and decorated the cookies. It actually was nice breaking it up into 3-days.

My children wrote letters to Santa Claus last night. I usually tuck the letters away to scrapbook at a later date and eventually misplace them. I decided to quickly scrapbook the letters with a picture of Santa they had taken last month. To see the layouts go to my scrapbook blog . My son's letter: Dear Santa Can you please get me (these are the DS games I want please) Petz Hamsterz 2, Atlantis Squar pantis, nintendogs. Can you please get me a real Hamster. Can you please Get me an Iron gym. My daughter's letter: Dear Santa I want a real dog pleas and a toy puppy and a DS Zelda game.

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! The other day my daughter said; "Christmas is not about presents Mom, it's about Jesus too!" I hope we all remember Jesus Christ and the true reason we celebrate Christmas! You can see my son is not happy in these pictures (Ebenezer Poulsen.) He wanted to wear a different color tie. I wanted him to wear this red tie, so we would all match. He put it on, but was still cranky and did not want to get pictures taken. I told him we would have to do it all again next week if he wasn't good. My daughter was happy, but wanted to know why she had to wear the red dress again. She told me she has other cute dresses to wear! I usually make her wear this dress to church the whole month of December, because it's the only time the dress can be worn. And besides I love this dress on her and will be sad when she out grows it!

If my memory is correct, my Great Grandma Merrill made these Christmas decorations. (Please correct me if I'm wrong, mom and/or dad.) One is a glass Santa Clause made from a wine glass and the other is a red boot made from a large tin can. These two are my favorite Christmas decorations, because they bring back memories from my childhood. In the black and white photo, I am in the center holding the glass Santa Clause. I am with my two older sisters. Don't you love the short dresses on us?! As a child, I loved waking up on Christmas morning and finding that Santa Clause had filled both the glass Santa Clause and the red boot full of hard yummy candy! My Mother passed these Christmas decorations on to me. Thanks so much Mom! Santa Clause no longer fills them with hard yummy candy, but that's okay. My glass Santa Clause now holds old Christmas balls, which my Mom also gave to me. The red boot now holds other old Christmas decorations.

My daughter lost her coat at school the other day. I wound up sending her to school with no coat for two days while we tried to track it down. I was so angry she had lost her coat. I felt now was not the time to lose your winter coat, it was too cold and no extra money with Christmas just around the corner. I remember when I was young and I lost my eye glasses. I remember my parents getting mad at me. Now, I knew how they felt. It's not like you have extra money, because your child is not responsible. Anyhow, I searched her school, but was unsuccessful. It was too cold to go without a coat, so I bought her a new one. Luckily the coats at Old Navy were 50% off! This coat is longer and I feel is warmer than her other coat. The day after I bought her a new coat, her brother found her old coat in another class room! She has 2 coats now! I should have waited a little longer.

I love getting big boxes. I can give my children a big box and they will be occupied for hours, as long as their imaginations are in motion. To them it is not just a box, but a boat, car, rocket, cave, office, and much more! Gotta love the free toys!

It was a Friday night and the start of a two week Christmas vacation. My children were busy playing computer games. I let them play even though they had not read a book that evening and I let them play longer than I normally do. After 3 hours of playing I looked at their P.E. homework for the day. Ha, ha, ha! I found they had to do 1 jumping jack for every minute of playing on a computer and/or video game. That wound up being 180 jumping jacks they had to do! How funny was that?!
