Dear Santa

-
My children wrote letters to Santa Claus last night. I usually tuck the letters away to scrapbook at a later date and eventually misplace them. I decided to quickly scrapbook the letters with a picture of Santa they had taken last month. To see the layouts go to my scrapbook blog.

My son's letter: Dear Santa Can you please get me (these are the DS games I want please) Petz Hamsterz 2, Atlantis Squar pantis, nintendogs. Can you please get me a real Hamster. Can you please Get me an Iron gym.

My daughter's letter: Dear Santa I want a real dog pleas and a toy puppy and a DS Zelda game.

My 1st Half Marathon of 2013!

I ended 2012 with a GAIN (weight that is) but I started 2013 with a BANG and ran a half marathon yesterday (well 15.1 miles actually)! And my children both ran a 10K (6.2 miles). I am so proud they run with me. The race was inside the Olympic oval which was fun to see. I love my BLING (below). My next half marathon is in 19 days! It will be a FUN run and I cannot wait to run it. I ran 6 half marathons last year and I hope to run even more this year. I ran 2 miles more than a half marathon because the line to turn in the timing chip was long. Funny thing about it is my friend knew she was two laps behind me. Because I kept running so did she. She was so mad when she found out she could have stopped earlier.  After the race my daughter passed out cold. I think she is ready for a day of rest after 3 days of snowboarding and a day of running.

This is What Made ME CRY the Most!

We drove past these homes by the canal everyday and everyday I wanted to stop and walk down to them. Oprah always says "Everyone has a story" and I wanted to talk and visit with them and hear their stories. I was with David H. the first time we drove past these homes. Here these people lived in what could be mistaken for a child's club house. On our last day in Mexico me, my girl friend, and my children stopped by these shacks next to the canal to pass out toys and blankets. My only regret was that I didn't have more blankets and I didn't speak Spanish and therefore was unable to hear their stories! I gave these old toothless men blankets, which made my girl friend mad. She knew we didn't have a lot of blankets and she wanted me to pass them out to the women and/or children. ...
