My Lil' Pilgrim!

My daughter had to dress up like an Indian or a Pilgrim for school. She wanted to be an Indian, but I couldn't find a cheap costume and wasn't creative enough to figure out how to make one quick enough. The night before I wound up finding a Pilgrim get-up, which included a hat, collar and buckles for shoes. It was for a price I could afford, so I bought it.

My daughter was sad because she still wanted to be an Indian. However, she liked the Pilgrim hat after she tried it on and was happy. I told her she looked more like a Pilgrim than an Indian anyway. She asked why I said that and I said because she had white skin. She looked at me with a growl on her face and told me her skin was not white, but skin color!

At her school party one of the Dad's had brought several Indian costumes for all the children who didn't have one. My daughter was mad again, because if I had not bought her a costume, she would have gotten the Indian costume she wanted!
