My Football Fears Happened To Another Mom!

My son played a great game on Saturday! He had FOUR quarterback sacks and one resulted in him recovering a fumbled football. His defense coach was so proud of him he ran out and picked him up and carried him off the field on his shoulders. He told him how proud he was and how he probably saved the game for them! I would have loved a picture of it!

My son gets better at football with each game he plays. He amazes me. He reminds me of one of my nephews who does good at what ever sport he plays!

During the last minute of the game the other team miraculously made a touch down, which put them ahead by 2 points. My son's team had 45 seconds left and did not get the points back to win the game!

Unfortunately, at the end of the game one of my son's teammates lay still on the ground. It was told that a player on the other team tackled him down to the ground by his face mask, which is a BIG no no! His neck was hurt so bad that he could not get up. Several parents who were at the game and fortunately were a doctor and 3 nurses immediately attended him. An ambulance had to be called and took him away. I cried when I realized one of the boys was hurt. I hope he is okay and will be praying for him. I pray I never have to experience what this mother did!

Oh my! I hope that never happens to you either, sounds like he is doing an awesome job. You should be a proud momma!

Yeah...I don't know how you do it ALL with me time...I would be crazy! If you go to www.blurb.com you can publish your blog...you can add or remove any pictures or posts you don't want to include. It is the only reason I blog...so I can print it and have a journal of our life. It is pretty neat stuff.

My 1st Half Marathon of 2013!

I ended 2012 with a GAIN (weight that is) but I started 2013 with a BANG and ran a half marathon yesterday (well 15.1 miles actually)! And my children both ran a 10K (6.2 miles). I am so proud they run with me. The race was inside the Olympic oval which was fun to see. I love my BLING (below). My next half marathon is in 19 days! It will be a FUN run and I cannot wait to run it. I ran 6 half marathons last year and I hope to run even more this year. I ran 2 miles more than a half marathon because the line to turn in the timing chip was long. Funny thing about it is my friend knew she was two laps behind me. Because I kept running so did she. She was so mad when she found out she could have stopped earlier.  After the race my daughter passed out cold. I think she is ready for a day of rest after 3 days of snowboarding and a day of running.

Fun in Florida at Walt Disney World!

My children and I spent nine days in Florida at Walt Disney World with my best friend. We had fun, but it is good to be back in the dry heat! My children and I cannot stand the humid weather! The last time I was in Walt Disney World was 15 years ago. I loved it. I decided it is far too big of a place when you have small children. Disneyland is so much better for the young ones because it is smaller.
